Breathe, Take Me Away From Here

A short poem about a shortened life

Breath, feel the haze

close in around your brain

as the smoke hides

the mirror, and your face.

Play your games

and chase your daze —

your sober self draws near,

toxic, blind, forever chasing.

From fear

always running, tears

can be bloody,

please,

take me away from here.
